Week 4 - Jackaroo Course

Now we go up a gear! Settled into Australian city and country living, you next leave Sydney on Saturday by train and bus to learn to become an Australian Cowboy!
Saturday – Dinner, overnight stay at the Imperial hotel.
Sunday - Collected from the hotel, off to the Farm for your introduction.
No experience needed, as we train you to ride!
If you can ride we have experienced horses too. We provide riding hats, boots - and stock whips! Plus your Certificate on completion of the course.

MONDAY– Time to Leave Sydney and head for the outback.

You will travel independently or in a group to one of our various farms.
You will have discussed this in your first week. A degree of flexibility is needed as your will live with a family on an organic farm, so work and hours vary by the seasons. You may be building fences, weeding, planting, painting - living the Oz way of life!

You will get fitter, more confident as you learn new skills and experiences.

2 nights in Byron Bay - chill out!
2 nights in the Gold Coast & famous Surfers Paradise.
2 nights in Hervey Bay, with 2 extra nights on Fraser Island 4WD safari with guide. World’s largest sand island, home to the dingo, 100 lakes and your tented camp and BBQ!
2 nights Whitsunday Island – Most beautiful place in the world? Sail & snorkel the coral reefs. Crew included!
2 nights Airlie Beach – Its party central beside the lagoon with the chill out bar.
2 nights Cairns – You are at the top of the Gold Coast, so celebrate! Plus award winning snorkelling safari to the Great Barrier Reef - take your camera!

Flight to Sydney (flight included).
MONDAY– Office: Set up interviews.
TUESDAY – Accommodation day: Time to get your own place! You will be shown what and where.
WEDNESDAY– Another day to sort jobs and accommodation: telesales typically pays around AS19 per hour. While Outback and Pubs pay around A$350 per week with free food and accommodation. We ensure you will only get Union rates of pay.
